Who we are
Our website address is: http://photochirp.com.
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
Who we share your data with
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
Further privacy information
In laymen’s terms, I (Philip/Photochirp.com) am a very private person and treat others with the respect I’d like to be treated with. I would never spam you.
Submission of personal information is not required to view this website.
You should however be aware that Google and I record data for statistical purposes. Any data collected is not personally identifiable; every computer on the internet has an IP address and it can be used to identify country, state and city but not your home address. I analyse this data as a means to keep my content current and relevant.
As a means to help pay for server costs and make a bit of extra income, I participate in various advertising programmes. I’ve carefully chosen respectable companies. These companies do not mail me for information regarding my users, and even if they did, I would not share any personal information you have provided to me in emails or in person. The products I recommend buying are generally products I have bought myself. Affiliate linking does not increase the cost of your purchase.

Philip (Photochirp.com) is a participant in the eBay Partner Network Programme, an affiliate advertising programme designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to eBay.co.uk.

Photochirp.com uses the “Doubleclick” Cookie, which tracks use of Photochirp.com and user behaviour concerning ads, products and the services offered. If you want to permanently opt out of the DoubleClick cookie, you can install the DoubleClick opt out extension.
Alternatively, you may decide to disable all the Doubleclick Cookies by visiting the relevant Google Webpage.
Photochirp.com and third-party vendors use first-party cookies (such as the Google Analytics cookie) or other first-party identifiers, and third-party cookies (such as Google advertising cookies) or other third-party identifiers together.
I (Philip/Photochirp.com) use Google Analytics to help understand my viewer base and to determine how much traffic my website receives.
You can opt out of personalised advertising from Google and other participating companies by visiting the About Google Ads page.
Generally speaking, opting out of interest-based advertising does not prevent advertisements showing up completely, but it does prevent customised advertisements that rely on cookies as a means to function.
As a means to stay honest towards people viewing my website, I have created a list of the items I have not paid for or bought at a discounted price:
My opinions/reviews remain honest regardless of any possible discounts. I am extremely grateful to the companies that have been kind enough to donate or discount these items.
